Do you want to know the secret to having an organized home?
Well I am here to tell all!
But first let me ask you a question…
Does being organized come naturally to you?
Because I have a HUGE secret to share…
Being organized does NOT come naturally to me.
And honestly, I don’t think that it comes naturally to most of us!
So when people look at the way my house stays organized and clutter-free, they usually comment on how I’m just such an organized person!
As if I was just born with the natural ability to keep things tidy!
(Boy do I wish! Haha)
But do you want to know how I actually got to this point?
How my home stays clutter free and organized most of the time??
The secret…
I LEARNED how to be organized!
I’ve read books, taken e-courses, listened to podcasts, and read countless blog posts!
I’ve learned how to declutter, how to have a system in place that actually works, and what habits and routines would help me keep it that way!
And once I started actively pursuing answers on how to be more organized, I started to see MAJOR changes in my life!
Cutting down on toy clutter meant much less frustration with my kids!
(You can read all about the system I use here: Easy Toddler Toy Rotation System)
Having an organized fridge and cabinets equaled less wasted food and less time spent preparing meals!
Organizing my closet meant less time getting ready for work in the morning!
And these are just a few of the areas of my life that were improved by finally getting my home organized!
When you’re surrounded by clutter and don’t know where to even start it can have a significant impact on both your general mood AND your mental health!
I saw major improvements in both once I finally started to get organized, and let me tell you, my only regret was that I didn’t start focusing on it sooner!
I wasn’t alone…
Even after all of that I honestly still thought that it was just me who felt like this!
I’ve always been more than a little bit OCD, and so I thought maybe that was the reason why I felt so much calmer and happier in an organized space.
Then I started having conversations with friends and family, who were also struggling with conquering the clutter in their homes, and I was so surprised to find that they felt exactly the same way!
With each pile they sorted, or box they donated, they felt more at peace in their homes than ever!
And that’s when I started to finally realize how universal the need for organization truly is!
We all want our homes to be a sanctuary.
Somewhere we can come to at the end of the day and relax.
We all need to be organized in order to simplify our daily lives.
We all need routines and habits that keep things neat and tidy on auto-pilot.
And the secret to finally achieving all of that?
To having the organized home you’ve always dreamed of?
Education!
