This DIY Christmas Bucket list jar is such a fun way to make sure you don’t forget to take time for all the little things during the busyness of the holiday season!

Because honestly, how often have you got to the end of December, and realized you forgot to do that one thing you usually do every year? Or maybe to try that new thing or start that new tradition you’ve been meaning to?

Well that’s definitely been me the past few years!

But I actually started off by making a fall themed bucket list jar this year (you can check that one out right here!)

And that went so well that I decided I had to make a Christmas one next!

So here we are! And all it takes is a jar and my free printable labels and cards!

    Supplies Needed:

    • Jar (I got mine from Dollar Tree)
    • FREE printable labels and cards
    • Scissors or paper trimmer
    • Glue
    • Small paintbrush (optional)

    Step One: Print & Cut

First off you’ll want to print and cut out the labels and cards.

If you haven’t already you can get those for free by signing up using the form above!

You’ll want to use your printer’s highest quality setting to get the best results.

Then just cut out both labels and all the cards.

You can use scissors for this, but a paper trimmer will definitely make it easier!

Don’t forget that you can also print additional copies of the page of blank cards if you need more!

Once you’ve cut them all out, you can move to the next step which is…

    Step Two: Gluing

Time to glue the labels onto your jar!

The jar I used was from Dollar Tree (they always have these jars either in the craft aisle, or sometimes in the seasonal decor area) but you can also use any jar you have on hand!

Pasta sauce, pickles, natural peanut butter and lots more foods come in glass jars that would work perfectly for a project like this!

If you’re using an upcycled jar you can also paint the lid before gluing on the labels, so that it goes with the Christmas theme!

If the jar you’re using has labels on it already you can use some warm soapy water to help remove them.

You can use any glue for attaching the labels. I chose a clear craft glue that I had on hand.

A little tip for this step is to take a small paintbrush and use it to spread the glue evenly in a thin layer across the back of the labels.

This helps avoid getting any big globs of glue on the labels when you’re putting them on the jar.

Just place the rectangular label on the front of the jar, and then the circular label on top of the lid.

    Step Three: Cards

If you’re using the blank cards you’ll want to write in your bucket list activities now.

I’ve included 15 prefilled cards, but if you need some additional ideas for your own you could also try:

    • Build a gingerbread house
    • Make snow angels
    • Listen to Christmas music
    • Visit santa
    • Make a handmade ornament
    • Do a Christmas craft
    • Watch a Christmas parade
    • Write a letter to santa
    • Have a snowball fight
    • Buy new cozy pajamas
    • Do a jigsaw puzzle
    • Go caroling
    • Drink eggnog
    • Wear a Christmas sweater
    • Go sledding
    • Read “Twas the Night Before Christmas”
    • Make paper snowflakes
    • Start a new tradition
    • Color holiday coloring pages
    • Make an advent calendar
    • Or whatever else you can think of!

Once your cards are ready, just place them all inside the jar!

You can fold the cards, roll them up and tie them with ribbon or string, or even fold them into little origami shapes!

Another idea would be to add some cute little fillers into the jar with the cards!

I did that with the self care ideas jar I made here.

Mini ornaments or even holiday confetti would make a super cute addition to this jar!

Once your cards are all inside, you’re finished!

    Here’s how mine turned out:

It literally only takes a few minutes to finish this project, and it looks so cute and festive!

And this jar is such a fun way for kids to get involved in creating and checking off the holiday bucket list!

My son and I had such a blast checking off our entire fall bucket list with the last jar I made, so I can’t wait to do the same with our Christmas bucket list jar!

Another neat way to use these would be to add the cards to an advent calendar, and then mark your calendar so you know which activities you will be doing on which days!
